Immigrant visas are permanent residence (green card) visas.

Types of Immigrant Visas:

IR and F marriage and family visas

These visas are issued to a spouse, children, father, mother, and sibling of a US citizen or permanent resident of the United States.

IR1 American spouse

The applicant will marry a US citizen or someone with a US Green Card. It usually takes two years to get a green card this way depending on whether the applicant is married to Citizen America or someone with a green card and the applicant lives in or outside the United States.

A marriage card allows a US citizen’s spouse or holder to live and work in the United States and apply for US citizenship after three years.

IR2 American single child under 21 years of age

These types of immigrant visas are employment-based and are part of the permanent green card. These visas are for foreigners to prove that they have exceptional ability and expertise in their profession. The profession can be in a variety of artistic, sports, scientific or educational fields.
